This post is sponsored in conjunction with ChristmasSweetsWeek. We received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of the ChristmasSweetsWeek recipes. Of course all opinions are ours alone because we wouldn’t have it any other way!. (As this recipe contains alcohol, this recipe is meant for persons over 21!)
In the past, an after dinner drink was only something I would enjoy at a restaurant. It was the thing I savored at the end of a long, decadent meal at some place I’d been dying to go to for months. An after dinner drink always felt like a total indulgence and something to be savored. With two young kids, my opportunities for long, lazy dinners out have become less frequent and I’ve been enjoying more entertaining at home. So, I figured, why not bring the after dinner drink home, too? Our Bourbon Salted Caramel Coffee with Whipped Cream will be a total hit at your next dinner party. Using Torani syrup for that fabulous salted caramel flavor and serving in JoyJolt glasses for a beautiful presentation, this drink will be your new go to!
As part of the Christmas Sweets Week fun, we developed this new recipe using one of the fantastic coffee syrups from Torani. I’ve been a longtime fan of Torani syrups at home. My favorite afternoon treat is a fresh latte (made with my Nespresso!) with a tiny splash of vanilla syrup. For this after dinner drink, we added a bit of their fantastic salted caramel syrup to highlight the natural caramel notes in bourbon and make our drink a bit like dessert in a cup.
The drink starts with good, strong coffee. Trust me on this one, you don’t want to use bad coffee. To contrast with the sweet and smoky from the syrup and bourbon, I prefer to use a dark roast. Stir in a bit of the Torani salted caramel syrup and take a whiff – it smells like heaven! Add a shot of bourbon and stir to combine, before topping with a generous (seriously, don’t wimp out here) scoop of freshly made bourbon whipped cream. Pop in a cinnamon stick and serve immediately.
A note on the whipped cream: the recipe makes enough for about two drinks with some leftover for topping desserts or just eating straight out of the bowl with a spoon. Because, let’s face it, that’s what I do every time. It’s that good.
We made our drinks in these beautiful Joyjolt insulated glasses. They are light weight, double-walled glasses that perfectly show off the gorgeous layers in the drink and keep things hot thanks to the insulated borosilicate glass. And bonus: they are dishwasher safe!! The great folks at Joyjolt gave us these glasses to work with and also gave us a promo code for you. Use the code Sweets25 for 25% percent off your next order!
