This is a simple, healthy dinner that can be made in less than 20 minutes. Magic! Add red pepper flakes if you desire a little heat. My family of 4 usually eats 1¼ pounds of salmon for dinner.
Recipe type: dinner, main course
Serves: 3-6 servings
  • 1-2 pounds fresh salmon filet
  • 2 Tablespoons maple syrup (pure maple syrup, NOT pancake syrup)
  • 2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • red pepper flakes (optional)
  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. In a small bowl combine maple syrup, Dijon mustard, salt and garlic powder with a whisk.
  3. Cover a baking sheet with tin foil (makes clean up quick too!).
  4. Lay salmon skin side down on foil covered baking sheet.
  5. Cover salmon with maple mustard sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes (if desired)
  7. Broil on high for 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of your filet and your desired consistency (check regularly after 10 minutes to ensure salmon does not become overcooked).
  8. Slice salmon into strips and serve!
