It’s almost Valentine’s Day! The stores are filled with flowers, heart shaped candies, and bottles of bubbly. Like many holidays, it’s festive and fun. It can also be really overwhelming and expensive. if you’re looking to celebrate the love in your life without the crowds or without breaking the bank, we have got you covered. Today we’re talking Recipes for a Home Cooked Valentine’s Date.
Despite the commercialized pressures to make Valentine’s Day over the top, a great date night meal (and a great Valentine’s Date Night!) does not have to be overwhelmingly complicated. Our collection of Recipes for a Home Cooked Valentine’s Date feature simple, flavorful foods that are easy to prepare but will absolutely impress your loved one.
Our Valentine’s Day Date starts with a great cocktail and a super simple appetizer. Our Chili Lime Margaritas are made with fresh juices and good tequila. They pair beautifully with these Crudités with Chili Lime Salt.
After you’ve enjoyed a cocktail and a snack, grab some fresh spinach and toss together our Spinach Salad with Maple Dijon Dressing. The salad is topped with a little goat cheese and some pistachios for crunch and tangy flavor. It’s plant filled and totally delicious.
Since it’s Valentine’s Day, we are going fancy things up a little with our elegant (but still really easy!) Maple Glazed Seared Scallops. I know that scallops can seem scary but trust me when I say that they are actually really easy. Take a breath and give them a try. You’ll love the result (and so will your valentine!). Pair the scallops with our simple lentil salad with roasted root vegetables and a lovely glass of white wine for an amazing, filling but light, meal.
We are finishing up this Valentine’s Day Dinner Date with a simple dessert of Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. Make these a few days in advance and just keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve them (and try not to eat them all!).
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all. Let us know how you’re celebrating!
