Quick Glazed Orange Bread

Fragrant bread with a cake like texture, this will quickly become a family favorite!

  • 1 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Queen Creek Olive Mill Blood Orange Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons orange zest
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (fresh squeezed), divided
  • 1/2 cup powered sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F

  2. Prepare a loaf pan with cooking spray or additional olive oil.

  3. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

  4. In the bowl of a stand mixer, use the paddle attachment to beat sugar and eggs.

  5. Add the yogurt, orange zest and 2 Tablespoons of orange juice and after combined, slowly stream the olive oil into the mixture.

  6. Add the dry ingredients to the mixer and mix until just combined.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, and bake at 350°F for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the middle.

  8. Cool on a baking rack for 20 minutes

  9. To make the glaze, combine the powdered sugar and the remaining 2 Tablespoons of orange juice in a small bowl, mixing until smooth.

  10. Top the cooled bread with the glaze and slice into 8 servings.  Watch them disappear!

I generally use Fage, full fat yogurt. (you could substitute a lower fat version if desired).
