Cabin Burgers

This is a flavorful burger the whole family will enjoy! I did give the appropriate amounts for 8 burgers with all of the fixings-but if your family is like mine, everyone may top their burgers just slightly differently.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 3 Tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 brioche buns or the hamburger bun of your choice
  • 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 avocados thinly sliced
  • 2 cups arugula leaves
  • 2 to matoes thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Sriracha Mayo

Instructions

  1. Place ground beef, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, basil, thyme, salt, Tabasco and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Using your hands, mix the ingredients until all ingredients are incorporated into the ground beef.
  3. Form 8 patties, remembering to dimple each patty in the center
  4. Grill hamburgers for approximately 6 minutes a side (keep in mind, this time is dependent on how close your burgers are to the flame, how thick your burgers are, and how well done you want your burgers-you may want a little more time...or a little less)
  5. Allow hamburgers to rest, covered with a foil tent, until you are ready to build your burger!
  6. Grill buns cut side down until golden (this can also be done in your oven-put buns cut side up on a baking tray, broil for 45 seconds-1 minute, until golden).
  7. Spread bottom of bun with 1/2 Tablespoon Sriracha Mayo
  8. Stack arugula, tomato slices, avocado slices and then the burger onto the bottom of the bun.
  9. Sprinkle top of hot burger with 1/2 ounce of crumbled blue cheese.
  10. Finally, cover with top bun.
  11. Enjoy!
