Instant Pot Maple Apple Steel Cut Oats

  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups apple peeled and chopped (approximately 2 cups)
  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • chopped apples pecans, raisins, maple syrup for garnish


  1. Turn your Instant Pot on and press the Sauté function.
  2. Melt the butter in the pot.
  3. Add the oats and apples and cook for approximately 2 minutes.
  4. Add the water, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and salt.
  5. Cook on manual high pressure for 7 minutes.
  6. Allow a 10 minute natural release.
  7. Stir the oatmeal, which will thicken as it cools.
  8. Serve with the toppings of your choice.
