First things first: Thank you so much for all the support on our big announcement! We are so excited about the changes coming to the blog and we think you will really love them, too. As Lane said, we will definitely have new content and recipes up on the blog while we transition to our new format so don’t forget to check back, but we have moved to our new, twice weekly posting schedule already! And that, dear friends, is why we have our Good Food Reads appearing on Friday!
Here are some things catching our eye on the internet this week! Happy Cooking!
Crockpot Chicken Chili Verde (Weelicious). I’m heading back to work next week (such a mixed feeling!) and plan to make this to have for dinner after my first day back. I love weelicious recipes – and my family does, too!
10 Food Bloggers Share Their Favorite Soup Recipes (The Kitchn). What a great collection of soup recipes! I’m especially excited to try the Mexican Street Corn Soup from Striped Spatula. If you’ve been reading the blog for a time, you know that we looooove Street Corn Salad and this soup sounds like a great way to get some of that summer flavor in the winter!
Despite the fact that I need to work on losing the last of the baby weight, I’m going to make this Lemon and Vanilla Cream Citrus Tart (The Kitchen McCabe). It’s citrus season and I feel like it would basically be a crime to skip out on such a gorgeous dessert. Seriously, those photos are amazing.
I am really looking forward to this twist on the ole meatball: Harissa Meatballs (A Cozy Kitchen). Hoping they freeze well for some easy weeknight dinners!
Smitten Kitchen digital series!!! YES. I am going to watch this ASAP. Fan girl without shame, for sure.
Root Vegetable Zoodle Soup with Bacon and Basil Oil (Yotam Ottolenghi). I love Ottolenghi’s Plenty, which I turn to often for #meatlessmonday inspiration. While this recipe isn’t technically vegetarian (see: candied bacon!!!), it’s still chock full of goodness and flavor.
Any salad with bacon is worth a try in my house. Not Without Salt’s Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad with Candied Bacon and Cranberries is definitely happening this weekend.
Lemon Poppyseed Olive Oil Muffins (Molly Yeh). I’m going to make a batch of these to have on hand for snacks next week. See, this baby weight thing is going really well…um…well…
Spinach Artichoke Hummus (Cook Nourish Bliss). Adding veggies to hummus – genius!
