Things are going to be a little different over here for this week’s Good Food Reads. While I’ve still got some great recipe links for you, we thought it might be fun to share a few other things we are loving and so I’ve collected some of my current favorite foodie, lifestyle, and even (gasp!) fashion loves into one, fun spot. This weeks Good Food Reads is all about Links I Love.Disclaimer: Many of the links in this post are affiliate links, meaning we collect a small (like suuuuuper tiny) commission from the company if you purchase something. KITCHEN & HOME
It’s likely no surprise, given my love of food and cooking, that I also love beautiful dinnerware and serving pieces. While in Capri, Italy a few weeks ago, I stumbled into a beautiful little pottery shop called The Sea Gull. They had the most gorgeous, hand painted serving platters and I can’t get them out of my mind. I didn’t pick one up that day as I was worried about transporting it home and didn’t want to deal with the hassle of shipping and now I’m totally regretting it. I’ve been searching the internet and found a few select pieces available online, including this darling lemon platter. I might have to pick it up! Or, you know, just go back to Capri ASAP.
If you’re in the market for gorgeous serving platters but want something a little more simple, these Marin platters from Crate and Barrel and absolutely stunning and so versatile!
I’m getting ready for my oldest baby to start kindergarten this fall (Side note: Can someone PLEASE tell me how this happened!?!? I swear he was a tiny baby about two weeks ago…) and looking for eco-friendly lunch options. We’ve been using the Bentgo kids box, but he needs something a little bigger. I’m going to give this LunchBots version a try! Anyone have other brands they love?
Confession: we use a lot of ziploc bags. I’m trying to cut down on waste in our home and so I just ordered a Stasher bag and I’m thinking about these reusable re-zip storage bags as well.
FOOD
I just pre-ordered this new cookbook from Yottam Ottolenghi! I love his flavorful, unique brand of cooking and can’t wait to try his newest stuff which is featuring simple, made in 30 minutes or less, frequently one pot meals. YES!!!
Speaking of quick and easy recipes, how great are these Green Smoothie Popsicles? My kids will love them. Don’t have popsicle molds? No biggie. Grab these from Target and get creating.
My basil plants are exploding and I need to get a batch of pesto made ASAP. I’m going to use this recipe from Alexandra Cooks.
Loving this Trader Joe’s hack for quick and easy shrimp tacos!
I will never stop loving one pot meals. I can’t wait to try this recipe for Creamy Chicken Skillet with Red Pepper and Greens.
FUN
As every fashion blogger in the world has already posted, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is going on right now and it’s always the one time of year I stock up on some fall basics at great prices. This year, I picked up some fun new shoes (these loafers, and these fun booties in black!). And, while definitely NOT a cheap option, these Rag and Bone jeans are so comfy and flattering. If you’re in the market for a new pair of awesome denim, these are totally worth it.
I have thick, textured hair that can be a real handful in the summer humidity. I’m loving this Kristin Ess leave in conditioner spray.
I just finished this book and wow, was it fantastic. Now I’m reading this new book from Beatriz Williams, which so far is a good summer read. What should I tackle next? I’m thinking I’m going to try either this one or this one.
Ok, friends. I’m off to tackle some more things on my to do list before it’s time to start dinner. I hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start. See you next Tuesday with an all new recipe right here on With Two Spoons.
I love that this week’s read included a ‘FUN’ section — totally picking up those loafers from Nordstrom and presenting your book options at my book group tonight! Thanks for diversifying content into a broader realm!
Glad you like it! We’ll probably be doing more!
