Bourbon Salted Caramel Coffee with Whipped Cream #ChristmasSweetsWeek

December 14, 2018 By Holly 18 Comments

This post is sponsored in conjunction with ChristmasSweetsWeek. We received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of the ChristmasSweetsWeek recipes.  Of course all opinions are ours alone because we wouldn’t have it any other way!. (As this recipe contains alcohol, this recipe is meant for persons over 21!)

In the past, an after dinner drink was only something I would enjoy at a restaurant. It was the thing I savored at the end of a long, decadent meal at some place I’d been dying to go to for months. An after dinner drink always felt like a total indulgence and something to be savored. With two young kids, my opportunities for long, lazy dinners out have become less frequent and I’ve been enjoying more entertaining at home. So, I figured, why not bring the after dinner drink home, too? Our Bourbon Salted Caramel Coffee with Whipped Cream will be a total hit at your next dinner party.  Using Torani syrup for that fabulous salted caramel flavor and serving in JoyJolt glasses for a beautiful presentation, this drink will be your new go to!Bourbon Salted Caramel Coffee…

Good Food Reads: Grilling

June 30, 2017 By Lane 2 Comments

Join us today for some Grilling Recipes to add to your “must-make” list!

Good Food Reads Grilling EditionHi y’all!  Holly and I recently discovered the grill.  I know, I know, I’m sure many of you are sighing, I mean really, why in the world have two avid home cooks NOT been using the grill?  I will tell you though, for both of us, the grill has previously been the baby of our husbands, and you know how those guys can get…territorial.  Plus both of us are super busy moms (with four kids between us), run this blog, run bookclubs (hi ladies!), and work FULL TIME!  Far be it for us to look a gift horse…or whatever that crazy cliche is!  Someone was going to feed the kids and give us a night off-we ACCEPT!

Alas…there was a day recently that there was no husband around (yep, they work too) and therefore we had to figure it out.  Turns out all of that fancy schooling we did paid off…the gas grill was conquered!  To be honest, all we had to do was grill some bread for an appetizer, so not rocket science, but hey, we have to start somewhere!  So for this episode of Good Food Reads we wanted to pay homage to the grill.  And because Minnesota summer is so beautiful for grilling we also wanted to introduce you to some local Minnesota bloggers.  Ready?  Read on for some amazing grilling recipes…

Good Food Reads

Oh, dear foodie friends. We have such goodness for you in this latest installment of Good Food Reads! As usual, we have scoured the internet and found a collection recipes and articles that are inspiring us currently and can’t wait to share them with you. Ready? I thought so. Here. We. Go….

A Guide To Pairing Wine and Cake. Because we all need a little more cake. And probably a little more wine!

Check out the gorgeous color of these Red Coconut Curry Meatballs with Cauliflower Rice. I’m planning to prep a batch for easy work meals this weekend!

Continuing my love affair with the InstantPot: Life Changing InstantPot Beef Stew from the lovely Lindsay at Pinch of Yum. Since we’re still working our way slowly into spring over here in Minnesota, this

Patio season is going to be here soon and I’m collecting cocktail recipes for entertaining. The latest addition to my list? The Ginger Rogers from Broma Bakery. With fresh ginger, grapefruit, and gin, how could it not be perfect?

Though we are nearing the end of citrus season, I’m still planning on getting in a batch of these Thick and Chewy Lime Bars with a Shortbread Crust. And I’m just aching to get my hands on some fresh rhubarb so that I can make these Roasted Rhubarb Scone Sandwiches with Vanilla Bean Glaze. Gorgeous.

Try this easy appetizer: Marinated Goat Cheese. Elegant and full of flavor. Another great spring option? Buttered Radish Tartines. The key is really good butter and a fresh, crusty bread loaf.

Are you a Trader Joes fan? I love picking up unusual items there and love seeing what others are buying. Here’s a list of 20 Things To Buy at TJ’s to save a little grocery cash.

This one’s for you, Lane: Smashed Grilled Sweet Potatoes with Chimichurri. Sounds like the perfect summer dinner!

And finally, I’m making a batch of these honey roasted strawberry muffins tomorrow morning to get me through my work weekend.

What are you lovelies planning to make this weekend? Let us know via instagram or twitter (@withtwospoons) or join us on Facebook! We can’t wait to see what you’re cooking!
