Baba Ghanoush: A Grilled Eggplant Dip

August 13, 2019 By Lane 1 Comment

My new title should be “Queen of the nondescript looking beige dips”.  But guys, this Baba Ghanoush is SO, SO good.  A little garlicky, a little lemony, and after all what else are you going to do with all of the eggplants that have come in your CSA this summer?  (no really, what ARE you going to do?  I need ideas.  Stat.)

Creamy Vanilla Fruit Dip

June 25, 2019 By Holly 24 Comments

Just in time for the Fourth of July, we are bringing back a favorite recipe from the With Two Spoons archive that is easy to dress up with some red, white, and blue! This Creamy Vanilla Fruit Dip is a summer time entertaining staple. With only four simple ingredients, it is ready in just a few minutes and is perfect for kids and adults. We first published this recipe in April of last year and it has quickly become a favorite!

[Originally published April 24, 2018]

Spring has finally sprung here in the midwest and, after surviving nearly two feet of new snow last week, the sun is out and I just went for a run in shorts and a tee shirt. My gratitude for the warm weather knows no bounds after this doozy of a winter!  In addition to warmer temps, one of my favorite things about this time of year is that spring means berry season. My kids, who would probably live on berries if I let them, are especially excited about the rapidly increasing abundance of fresh fruit. While we typically just eat berries plain (by the handful or pint!), sometimes I love to serve them with this Creamy Vanilla Fruit Dip. It’s a simple recipe, perfect for parties and really makes your average berry feel like a special dessert.

Lemon Rosemary White Bean Dip

May 21, 2019 By Lane 4 Comments

Here in Minneapolis we finally saw our first 80 degree day.  Everyone flocked outside to take advantage of the amazing sunshine.  People congregated on driveways, at parks, around our 10,000+ lakes.  Just so dang happy to be outside!

But as the temperatures go up, and everyone gathers outside, snacks are needed.  Like this Lemon Rosemary White Bean Dip made with Fresh Crush Rosemary Olive Oil from the Queen Creek Olive Mill. Perfect for a summer gathering (or really ANY gathering).

Don’t trust me?  It’ll take you FIVE minutes to make it this delicious dip and you can see for yourself!

Cheesy Turkey Apple Meatballs with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

February 19, 2019 By Holly 5 Comments

If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you might remember me mentioning that I have a very picky eater. My youngest child is now two and has basically four approved foods. If it isn’t a bread, cheese, fruit, or yogurt, she won’t touch it. In my quest to not live my life as a short order cook and still get dinner on the table that most of us will eat, I’ve started working hard on developing recipes that are totally kid friendly and adult approved. These Cheesy Turkey Apple Meatballs with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce are perfect for picky kids and adults alike.

As a resident of this year’s host city and a Patriots fan by marriage, it has been non-stop Super Bowl talk around here for some time. While I’m hoping the Pats can pull off another win, I’m mostly excited about all of the yummy snacks that come with Super Bowl parties. And if there’s one snack that no party should be without, it’s a good dill dip. Am I right?

Cheesy Artichoke Dip

Happy New Year, friends! It’s hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone and 2018 is here already. I loved spending time with family and friends over the past few weeks and celebrating all the fun we had in 2017. Now, I know that for many people, January means new goals and intentions for the new year. If you’re anything like me, those goals or intentions often include health and fitness. Self promises to eat better, move more, and do something less. Well, if you came here looking for a healthy new year recipe, I’m going to break it to you gently: this isn’t it. And you know what? I’m not sorry in the least. Our Cheesy Artichoke Dip is a full flavor, comfort food treat that is worth every single calorie. …

Good Food Reads: Back In The Saddle

September 22, 2017 By Holly 3 Comments

Hey All! I’ve just returned from a fantastic week in coastal Rhode Island with my family. We were blessed to spend a few years living in Boston before we had children and I will always love this time of year on the East Coast. Our time away was filled with lots of hours at the beach (yay for a warm early September and non-crowded beaches!) and plenty of good, fresh seafood. I may or may not have eaten my weight in lobster rolls! Now that I’m back to the Midwest and finally unpacked – let’s not mention the laundry – I’m also getting back into my kitchen. One of my favorite travel tricks is to order groceries to be delivered on the day we return from a trip and we supplemented that this time by also having Blue Apron deliver a few days after we returned! I love not having to stress out about getting to the grocery store for essentials and not having to think about meals (even for someone like me who generally finds cooking relaxin) was great. That being said, I’m really ready to get back into it and so for this week’s Good Food Reads, I’m sharing my list of what I’m hoping to make in the next week or so! I’m back in the proverbial saddle and so excited for a good ride. I hope you join us and share some of your recipe favorites from your kitchens or around the internet!…

Radish and Cucumber Tzatziki

May 13, 2016 By Lane Leave a Comment

Radish and Cucumber Tzatziki

I’ve been slightly obsessed with radishes lately.  I am seeing them everywhere…beautiful pictures in magazines, huge bundles at the farmer’s market, piles at the co-op.  They are gorgeous this time of year, spicy, crunchy and so fresh! So when I came across this recipe I knew I had to make it.  And I’m so, so glad I did!  Similar to the gyro dip you always ask for more of (OK, well I also ask for more of), with the same addictive qualities….
